Inspiration, specific projects and robotics in practice
The International Engineering Fair in Brno is a major industry event and, for us, an annual opportunity to meet with business partners and seek inspiration for future projects. Once again this year, we were in attendance at this significant industry event. We would like to thank all our business partners for the time we spent together and for sharing their insights from the fair.
Robots at every turn
This year’s MSV was teeming with robots. Alongside traditional industrial robotic arms, there were humanoids, robotic dogs and applications utilising machine vision and artificial intelligence. We were particularly impressed, for example, by robotic systems capable of recognising the position of randomly arranged parts and gripping them autonomously. Robotics is also shifting from precisely programmed operations towards more flexible solutions. The question remains, however, as to where it is worth deploying new technologies and where traditional automation remains more effective. Whilst the latest robotic applications were on display at the trade fair, machines that are decades old continue to operate reliably on the production floor. Even these, however, must adapt to new requirements, as confirmed by the Robo Meet Up conference, which we also attended.
Robo Meet Up: Do older technologies have to be scrapped?
We were really looking forward to this event. We were particularly interested in practical experiences of deploying robots in production, the benefits they bring, but also the obstacles that need to be overcome during implementation. What we took away from the conference is that Czech companies are grappling not only with a labour shortage, but also with ageing machinery. Real-world examples confirmed that older technology does not necessarily mean the end of its service life, and they reinforced our own experience that a well-executed refurbishment is an investment with the quickest return.
Refurbishment of machinery and plant
Do you operate a machine that suits your needs, but are you troubled by its outdated control system and inadequate diagnostics? We carry out a complete overhaul of the machine’s mechanical parts and control systems, including the replacement of field instrumentation and cabling, as well as a new control panel.
